School Board honors Tangent Student All Stars

Posted on: May 8, 2017

On Monday, the School Board honored Student All-Stars from Tangent Elementary School for their motivation, perseverance, growth, and school and community service.

Tangent students are:

Kyleigh Grieser-King

A true leader and a collaborative worker, Kyleigh consistently seeks to learn more about any subject that she comes upon.  She sets an example for others as an engaged and caring member of the learning community.

Dylan Galvan-Northrup

Dylan is always kind to everyone and is one of those special students who can work well with anyone. When younger students need to be paired with a role model for self management, Dylan naturally comes to mind. Dylan takes a daily run with students while other students eat breakfast and has welcomed another younger learner to participate safely and respectfully alongside him in PE.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Posted on: May 5, 2017

Last week we celebrated our AMAZING teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week. They were  appreciated each day in many special ways by their students and other staff. On Wednesday at morning assembly they received handmade blankets that were signed by their students. It was a “colorful” day at Tangent! They were also appreciated by their students with love-filled note cards and by the other staff and PTC with breakfast and lunch and other special goodies. Thank you to all our teachers for all you do!

Learning Ladder Golf

Posted on: May 5, 2017

This past week in PE we learned all about Ladder Golf. Some of the kids had played this game before but many had not ever experienced this fun lawn game. We learned the names of the instruments required to play and how to keep score. Kids from all six classes got to play ladder golf and a few classes even got to enjoy the nice weather while playing ladder golf outside! Ask your student to tell you more about this activity, I know I learned a lot and will be searching out a set for myself to play this summer with my family! Thanks again for sharing your wonderful children with me – I am so fortunate to do what I love! Sincerely, Mrs. Johnson
