44th Annual Tangent Senior Dinner

Posted on: December 9, 2016

Today Tangent Elementary’s Parent-Teacher Club hosted the 44th annual Tangent Senior Dinner. Students are encouraged each year to invite their grandparents or favorite seniors in their lives to a ham dinner & dessert. There are also special guests from the community who are invited to attend and enjoy a meal with our Tangent family. Musical entertainment was provided by our students with the help of their music teacher, Mr. Herb and there was cake to follow. Thank you to all our seniors who came out for the event and thank you to our PTC officers and volunteers for all they did to make this year a success!

Please see the district website for some great images from the event linked below.

Posted on: November 23, 2016

Schools are closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.

Students at Tangent Elementary School got ready for the holiday break by creating some festive Turkey art, which was displayed in the board room at the District office. These turkeys are by first-grade students in Miss Pollard’s class.

Happy Thanksgiving!

What’s happening in 4th and 5th Grade?

Posted on: November 22, 2016

The 5th graders have been studying about the history of the first Thanksgiving and talking about the chemical makeup of matter and fractions. In response to these history and math lessons,  the class made gluten free/dairy free pumpkin bread and cornbread. Students were divided into six groups and given a recipe to assemble. They worked as a team successfully and shared the loaves with the 4th grade scholars, who made the butter to go on the breads. The 4th graders have been studying different kinds of matter and how to change liquids to solids. As Mrs. Eng was baking the breads, those of us in the classrooms could smell the wonderful aroma wafting throughout the entire school! Way to go 4th and 5th graders!!
